VIDYA VIKASINI SCHOOL (C.I.S.C.E)

In order to search and find a suitable land in Bassien, Reverend Brother Nicolas Colaco, a native of the land, was appointed and it was through his untiring efforts that the present property, an agricultural land at Gokhivera village, was purchased on 13th June, 1969. Soon after the purchase of the property, the Brothers formed the first community. The Brothers’ residence was the first to be put up. The foundation stone was blessed on 19th April, 1975. The following year on 13th September, the building was ready.

In the Master Plan of the Institution, a Primary school was also planned. The foundation stone for the school building was blessed on 21st April, 1975. Gradually more space was needed to accommodate both the Primary and a High School section. Raising one more floor to the existing school building was the answer and this was achieved by the year 1987.

Vidya Vikasini Junior College was a natural progression of Vidya Vikasini English School. A spacious building was erected adjoining the present school building and the aim was to admit the 1st batch of students in the Academic Year 2002.

With a view to branch further into the realm of education and to widen our horizon, the Vidya Vikasini I.C.S.E. school was conceived and began in the year 2006.
